Washington Warriors Secure Second Consecutive 11AAA Championship
Chad Stadem has put together another championship squad as the Washington Warriors utilized the big plays to win another 11AAA title.
Washington and Brandon Valley put on a 11AAA title game to remember as the Warriors would use the rushing attack of Tupac Kpeayeh and the big play ability from Thuro Reisdorfer to secure a 41-31 win on Saturday night.
Brandon Valley took the lead twice in the contest (24-21, 31-28), but both times Washington countered back with a touchdown drive on a combined three plays. Kpeayeh finished the game with 234 yards on 27 attempts and three touchdowns. Reisdorfer had a 74-yard receiving touchdown and a 100 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Both were instrumental in the win for Washington.
The Lynx battled through the entire game. Quarterback Alex Waltner finished 18-30 for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns. Braiden Petersen rushed for 128 yards and a score, while Spencer Grage added two touchdowns through the air receiving.
Washington finishes with a state championship and with a perfect 12-0 record. Brandon Valley ends the year 8-4.
