A Happy Anniversary to the birth of the Wild nick-naming in Minnesota.

Back in 1998 there were an estimated 13,000 naming ideas for Minnesota's new NHL entry.

Of those, there were six finalists. They were: Freeze, Northern Lights, Blue Ox, White Bears, Voyageurs and Wild.

Do you like the choice of the Wild? Seems to fight and seems to work. I like Northern Lights too.
