Wednesday, the last gold medal coach, and current Duke head coach Mike Krzyzweski announced he is stepping down from coaching team USA at the Olympics.

Krzyzweski has been team USA's coach since 2005 and has an outstanding 62-1 record, two gold medals at the 2010 and 2012 Olympics, and one gold medal at the 2010 World Championships.

Now, the question shifts to who will coach team USA in the 2016 Olympics?

If USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo wants to stick with college coaches, then he should look at Kentucky head coach John Calipari.

Calipari led Kentucky to an NCAA championship last year, and briefly has some NBA experience after coaching New Jersey from 1996 to 1999. Calipari didn't have the best luck, going 26-56 his debut season, then making playoffs and winning 43 games his second year before being fired his third season after starting 3-17.

He was going to coach the Dominican Republic National Team in the Olympics, but pulled out at the last second.

If the next team USA coach isn't in college, than there are plenty of NBA coaches that could handle the job as well.

A bright, young coach that may be perfect for the job may be the Miami Heat's head coach Erik Spoelstra. Spoelstra is 235-132 with an NBA championship and has coached three of the game's best players, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

The Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers may also be a good selection to the job, as he has played and coached in the NBA. Rivers has coached since 1999, and has won a NBA championship with the Celtics, and has a 576-460 record.

The last coach that may be the best fit is longtime San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. He's been with the Spurs since 1996 and has won four NBA championships, and is 892-412 in his NBA career.

A name to mention may be Phil Jackson. That's if, of course the basketball coaching legend wants to come out of retirement.

The only thing we do know is that the next coach of team USA will have a lot of talent to work with in 2016.
