In 2014, Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen stepped down from his day to day operations with the team as he battled Alzheimer's and now his wife is in the same fight.

Annabel Bowlen, the wife of Pat Bowlen has now also been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

She made the announcement on Wednesday and her statement read in part:

"I decided to make my diagnosis public right away in the hope that it continues to raise awareness for those battling Alzheimer's and their loved ones,"

For anyone that has been personally affected by this disease, you know how tough it can be for the person affected and their family.

The Broncos organization, the players and the fans will continue to be a big support system for the Bowlen family.
