Winner Winner! We Say It Twice, As Yoenis Cespedes Wins The Home Run Derby Again
The 2014 MLB Home Run Derby is complete and for the second strait year, Yoenis Cespedes takes home the title.
The Oakland A’s were represented by both Josh Donaldson and Yoenis Cespedes, but it was Cespedes’s power once again this year that separated him from Donaldson and the rest of the field.
The Home Run Derby was delayed about an hour due to rain in the downtown Minneapolis area, but the fans were patient and so was the Champ.
As all the participants took their cuts at history, Cespedes just seemed locked in from the start and was certainly not deterred by the cold weather or the rain.
In the final round, Cespedes defeated the Reds Todd Frazier 9-1.
This is the first time in 15 years that we have seen a Champion win the Home Run Derby in back to back years.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see him defend his title in 2015 and maybe, just maybe, we’ll get a three-peat.
