SIOUX FALLS - One of Sioux Falls' three public golf courses has reopened as crews continue to clear ice-storm tree debris from the other two.

The Argus Leader reports that Prairie Green allowed walkers on the course Friday, and carts are available for use starting Saturday.

Dakota Golf President Tom Jansa says Elmwood and Kuehn Park have more seasoned trees, and they'll remain closed until they comply with city standards for the safe reopening of park facilities. The driving ranges and practice facilities at both courses are open.

Parks and Recreation Director Don Kearney said Elmwood could be ready by early May, with Kuehn to follow shortly after.

He says Department of Correction inmates are helping city crews with the course cleanup.
