2020 South Dakota High School Football Schedules Released

2020 will mark the second year of a two-year alignment for high school football in South Dakota. Here are all of the schedules for the local Sioux Falls teams for this season.

While the talk surrounding high school football in South Dakota has been on classifications, the SDHSAA posted 2020 schedules without anyone really noticing. With this year being the second year of a two-year alignment, the schedules for this upcoming season are the same as last year with home/away flipped.

South Dakota will remain at seven classes for the 2020 season (and at this point, it appears that it will stay that way for a while). Class 11AAA will play a round-robin schedule with eight of the ten teams making the postseason.

There are some interesting quirks to the schedule this upcoming season. For example, Lincoln will play its first five games of the season at Howard Wood Field. They'll then travel to Brandon and Harrisburg, return to Howard Wood Field, and finish the year with a trip to Rapid City.

Presidents Bowl will take place on Saturday, September 5, and features the matchups of Harrisburg/Washington and Lincoln/Roosevelt. Dakota Bowl will be the following weekend on Saturday, September 12 with Roosevelt/O'Gorman.
