Augustana sophomore pitcher Jenelle Trautmann is the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week.

The Hastings, MN native posted a 1.97 earned run average while recording a 3-2 record and one save to help the #8 Vikings to a 4-2 record and a runner-up finish in the silver bracket at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Tucson, AZ.

She opened the tournament dropping a 1-0, complete game to Southeastern Oklahoma State. Trautmann then posted consecutive wins including a nine-inning, 10-strikeout win over #16 Central Oklahoma. The sophomore also racked up seven strikeouts against #2 UC San Diego in five innings of work.

In relief work against Missouri-St. Louis, Trautmann inherited runners on second and third with no outs before striking out a batter and forcing two groundouts to preserve the Viking lead. On day three in the elimination rounds, Trautmann threw four shutout innings to give the Vikings a win to move to the silver bracket finals.

This marks the first player of the week honor for Trautmann, and the first for the Vikings this season.
