South Dakota native and longtime Oklahoma player and assistant coach Josh Heupel is looking for a new job.

The Sooners have parted ways with their offensive coordinator, making it official at a Tuesday press conference.


Heupel was the South Dakota 'High School Player of the Year' for Aberdeen Central in 1996.

He began his collegiate career at Weber State, before eventually transferring to Oklahoma.

With the Sooners where he was the Heisman Trophy runner-up and AP 'Player of the Year' in 2000 after leading Oklahoma to an undefeated regular season and a national championship victory over Florida State in the 2001 Orange Bowl.
