Anthony Becht on Overtime discusses AFC, NFC Championships

Former NFL tight end Anthony Becht joins Jeff Thurn on Monday’s edition of Overtime.

Becht (@Anthony_Becht) played for New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs. He caught 188 passes for 1,537 yards, and 21 touchdowns. Currently, he is a college football analyst for ESPN and hosts a pregame and postgame show for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on 620 WDAE. In a blowout, the New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts to reach the Super Bowl. Thurn asks Becht what it says about the Patriots as a team. 

"I think when you talk about elite coaching staffs getting the best and most out of your players on the field. When you go back to the beginning of the season with this team, they traded away Logan Mankins, they started some rookie offensive lineman, they had that blowout loss at Kansas City. Everybody kind of wrote them off. I remember when I was in Cincinnati when they had that Thursday night game, I believe they played them and got off and beat a very good Cincinnati team. People were writing them off that time, and they just started to roll from there. I think it's just a tribute. When you get the most out of your players. Their coaches get their guys to play on Sunday and get them to believe. They have some talent on that team is elite and take over games. Tom Brady ala Rob Gronkowski. Those guys are hard to beat right now."

With a win over the Colts in the AFC title game, Tom Brady reached his sixth Super Bowl in his career.
