Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans had quite the outing on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.

He exploded for 59 points and 20 rebounds in a 111-106 win. Davis shot 24 for 34 from the field and 9-10 from the free throw line.

This breaks the most points scored by a player within the New Orleans organization since Jamal Mashburn scored 50 points 13 years ago as a Hornet.

59 points is also the most points scored by anyone in the Palace of Auburn Hills since Lebron James put up 48 points in game five of the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007.

According to ESPN, Davis joins Shaq and Wilt Chamberlain in a very small group as the only players to have 55 points & 20 rebounds in league history.
