The release date for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's upcoming downloadable content episode, Freedom Cry, has been revealed.

An article on VideoGamer points to a Dec. 17 release date for Freedom Cry, as revealed in an advertisement in the latest digital issue of Game Informer magazine. Players will be able to play through the story of Captain Kenway's first mate, Adewale.

The DLC is supposed to offer fans more than four hours of extra single-player content. No price has been set for Freedom Cry, but you'll be all set to download it if you've purchased the Season Pass. Just make sure you beat the game proper first, since Freedom Cry is set to take place 15 years after the events of Black Flag and start with Adewale getting shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue.
