It takes an exceptional person to light up a room.

Only a noteworthy or remarkable individual can routinely make you smile and strive to be a better person. It's a rarity to find someone who can always cheer you up and make you laugh.

Isiah Dorale is all of the above and more.

"He's one of the reasons I get up in the morning," said Dustin Groen, one of Isiah's teachers at LifeScape.

Isiah Dorale, a sophomore and bowler for the LifeScape Bulldogs, is this week's Athlete of the Week.

For the past two years, Isiah has enjoyed bowling with the LifeScape Bulldogs and Special Olympics. But Isiah doesn't just bowl for fun; he's pretty good, too. His team took home the gold medal just weeks ago at a Special Olympics Bowling event in Aberdeen, S.D.

Beyond his bowling success, Isiah likes playing card games. He also enjoys spending time with his teammates, family and friends.

His teachers and peers know him as a joker who loves to laugh. Groen, who's known Isiah for three years, gets to see Isiah's smile and hear his laugh almost every day.

"He's a great kid," Groen said. "He likes to laugh, he works hard and he does his best. He's just a joy to be around, and he lights up the room when he walks in."

Isiah is from Oto, Iowa, and his parents are David and Stephanie Dorale.

Congratulations to Isiah Dorale, this week's Athlete of the Week.
