BROOKINGS - A 78-year-old survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp is set to speak about strength and forgiveness during a speech at South Dakota State University next week.

Eva Mozes Kor was 10 when she and her family entered the concentration camp in 1944. Soldiers seized Kor and her twin sister to be used as human guinea pigs for experiments on twins.

When the camp was liberated in January 1945, Kor and her sister were among 200 children who survived. None of their family survived.

Kor has founded a survivors' group and has returned to Auschwitz 13 times.

Her speech at SDSU, "Ethics in Medicine:  Lessons from Dr. Mengele's Lab," will be at 7 p.m. on March 20 in the Performing Arts Center. A book signing will be held after the lecture.
