Kickers are those other players right? The others within a locker room full of "real" players according to many that have played and covered the sport of football.

It seems as if the leash is usually shorter too in regards to their job security and I'd say the ice is thin right now for Vikings kicker Blair Walsh.

He emerged onto the scene as a rookie Pro Bowler who seemed as if a 10-15 year NFL career was on the horizon.

Now he may not make it through the season with the Minnesota Vikings if he continues to kick as he is.

During the preseason, Walsh missed some kicks and even the voice ot the Vikings Paul Allen told me on my radio show that it was a concern.

He then went out in the Monday Night Football opener against the 49ers and missed another one in the first quarter.

So should the Minnesota Vikings add another kicker to the roster in case it continues or gets worse?

Mike Zimmer this week said that they would not being doing much to the dismay of ESPN 1500 host in the Twin Cities Judd Zulgad who called that a "big mistake" in his mind on my show this week.

Whatever it is, he needs to get it straitened out quick and I hope he does.  He's been good to our show before and for the sanity of Vikings fans, he better.

You have to have confidence in your kicking game as a head coach and the Vikings showed last week after his miss that they'd prefer to go for it instead of having Walsh line up for a 49 yard kick.

Kickers get on this ice quick and right now Walsh should be.
