The Star Tribune reports that Minnesota Twins and former South Dakota State left-handed pitcher Caleb Thielbar will see an increased role in late-game situations and has a new nickname.

Manager Ron Gardenhire has given Thielbar the nickname, "T-Bar," and wants to give Thielbar and righthander Casey Fien more opportunities to pitch in late-game situations.

Thielbar has posted 14 scoreless innings of relief and righhander Fien has a 0.87 ERA in June.

Normal late-game pitchers Jared Burton and Brian Duensing have struggled as of late. Burton has given up earnd runs in five of his past 10 outings, while Duensing has given up five earned runs over his past seven appearances.
