SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Sioux Falls Canaries were unable to stay in the win column Sunday as they fell to the St. Paul Saints 10-1 in an exhibition game at the Birdcage.

After falling behind 6-0 after three innings, the Canaries were never able to catch up and will look to put a lopsided defeat behind them as they get a second crack at the Saints Monday at 11:05 AM.

Drew Muren, Stephen Branca and Steve Tinoco all had multi-hit games for the Canaries, who were never able to cash in on the big inning.  In a mostly rough afternoon for the pitching staff, Josh Giles and Alan DeRatt were bright spots, each throwing a scoreless inning.

Tickets for Monday's game are only $5 and season-ticketholders are entitled to free admission.  It's the last game of the preseason for the Canaries who will take on the Sioux City Explorers Thursday night at 7:05 PM to open the regular season at the Birdcage.
