Good news!  Progress is being made on the 10th and Sycamore reconstruction project.  Bad news!  It will still be early October before the barrels are gone.

Phase two will begin on Tuesday evening after the main thrust of the afternoon drive are complete.

According to the City of Sioux Falls and the South Dakota Department of transportation, the contractor will continue work on the south side of 10th Street just west of Sycamore Avenue and start work on the west side of Sycamore Avenue south of 10th Street.

Traffic flow changes are as follows:

•    Southbound Sycamore Avenue traffic will be detoured to go west on 10th Street, south on Bahnson Avenue and then east on 18th Street.
•    Northbound Sycamore Avenue will be closed to thru traffic at the intersection of 10thStreet. Access to eastbound 10th Street will be provided for northbound Sycamore traffic.  Northbound Sycamore traffic waiting to turn west onto 10th Street should follow the signed detour route.
•    Traffic on 10th Street will continue to be reduced to one lane in both directions at this intersection.

As will all construction projects in the city, make sure you proceed slowly and carefully through the work zone.  If you have the opportunity to use an alternate route, that’s okay, too.
