The defending Summit League Tournament champions are trying to become Summit League regular season champs for the first time ever, and with four games to play, the South Dakota women's basketball team has a two game edge on the field.

Win number 20 of the season, was also the Coyotes fifth straight victory, 83-69 at Omaha last Thursday.  USD had six players score in double figures, and had a plus-15 edge in rebounding in the win.  The Coyotes were once again without point guard Tia Hemiller, who is recovering from a knee injury.  Coach Amy Williams says players like Kelly Stewart picked up the slack in Hemiller's absence:

This week starts in Denver Wednesday night.  USD beat the Pioneers 82-56 in Vermillion last month, holding the Pioneers to just five field goals in the second half.  Denver has lost four of five, but did beat South Dakota State at home last week, causing some concern for Coach Williams:

Tipoff is 8:00 PM Wednesday in Denver.
