SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The secretary of the Department of Corrections says he intends to hold one-on-one meetings with people in and outside the department to define expectations for the next warden of the state's maximum-security prison.

Warden Doug Weber recently announced his intention to leave his position this summer. Weber has been a DOC employee for 32 years. He was appointed to the position of warden in 1996.

DOC Secretary Denny Kaemingk tells The Argus Leader that he will hold a series of meetings to determine what sorts of characteristics a new warden will need moving forward.

He says finding a replacement for Weber will be difficult.
