Last year’s floor general for the Sioux Falls Skyforce is back for a second tour.  Larry Drew II looks to build on a successful first season.

One year ago, the UCLA standout was released from Miami Heat camp and allocated to Sioux Falls.  Along the way, Drew scored in double figures and distributed 7 dimes per game which ranked 7th best in team history over the course of a season.

Drew says he’s ready for round two.  “You always want to stay ready physically to keep up with the pace of the game.  In my position, I dictate the pace of the game.  I feel like the mental part at this point is the biggest part for me.”

Being property of the Miami Heat during preseason for the second year in a row is a factor that will carry over.  Drew says it enabled him to get some quality time with Coach Weber.  “He understands what I can do on the floor and what I can bring to this team.  He is definitely expecting some big things from me this year.”  Manning that point guard position also means understanding who your teammates are and Drew is a quick study of his mates.  “(There’s) a lot of talent with very high energy.  We’ve just got to put it all together.  We get everybody on the same page we’re going to be a dangerous team.”

The season starts with a Saturday night skirmish on the road against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and we shall if the pages read like a thrilling action novel.
