Ex Vikings Lineman Settles $475,000 Lawsuit with City of Minneapolis

Tom Johnson was a part of a lot of big wins in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Vikings and now he just got a big win against the city.

Johnson was awarded a $475,000 settlement in a lawsuit against the city of Minneapolis and their police force.

Four years ago, Johnson filed a lawsuit against the city after he claimed he was unfairly treated by the Minneapolis Police Department.

The lawsuit was filed two years after Johnson was arrested after a incident at the Seven Steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis.

Johnson claimed that the two off duty police officers targeted him and used excessive force.

He was eventually acquitted of the two charges in the case against him back in 2015.

According to ESPN, Johnson said he felt good about the settlement in the lawsuit saying "The officers and the city actually had to be accountable for something that went on at the end of the day that was very unprofessional."

Over his seven year NFL career, Johnson played for the Vikings and Saints and retired in 2018.
