It hasn’t been an illustrious career when it comes to The Association.  Call it an exercise in persistence.

Reggie Williams continues to find a way to make his way to the NBA as he agreed to a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs.

In 2009-10, a third round pick in the NBA Development League Draft played much higher than his slot for the Sioux Falls Skyforce.  In those 31 games Williams averaged 26.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game and built a foundation for a playoff run that season.

A call-up to Golden State was the springboard to the NBA with stops in Charlotte, the Tulsa 66ers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the revamped edition of the Tulsa D-League team the OKC Blue.  See below for some of Williams' finest work this season.

Williams has appeared in 13 games this season for the Blue averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.08 steals in 31.9 minutes per game.  In 69 career D-League games, he has averaged 22.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists in 37.7 minutes.

In 180 total NBA games, he has averaged 8.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 19.7 minutes.

The Spurs announced in a press release that Williams will wear No. 55 for the Silver and Black.

Here's the last outing for the graduate of the Virginia Military Institute against Austin.
