Nicole Seekamp's dreams of playing in the WNBA are on hold for now.

The former South Dakota standout has been waived by the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, just prior to the start of the 2019 regular season.

Seekamp signed a free agent contract with Dallas earlier this year and appeared in all three of the team's pre-season games.

In those contests, she averaged 14 minutes per game, was 2-of-4 from the floor, scoring four points, dishing out five assists, pulling down two rebounds, and collecting a pair of steals.

The 2019 WNBA regular season starts Friday (May 24).

Last season Seekamp played professionally in her native Australia leading Adelaide to the WNBL Grand Final after averaging 12 points, six assists, and five rebounds per game.

During her time at USD, Seekamp finished second all-time in scoring and was both the Summit League Player of the Year and two-time Summit League Tournament MVP.
