Four teenagers from Brandon are charged after Sioux Falls Police say they were found over the weekend in a vehicle with drugs and two stolen handguns.

Officer Sam Clemens says the teens were arrested after an officer made a traffic stop at 6th and Walts around 5:30 pm Saturday.

Clemens says the stop was prompted by paper license plates that turned out to be altered, and he says a search of the vehicle turned up ten loose prescription pills in the trunk and two stolen handguns in the glove compartment.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy from Brandon, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and two counts of possession of a concealed weapon.

The other three, a 16-year-old boy, 18-year-old Sheldon Hauge and 19-year-old Hunter May, all of Brandon, are charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Clemens says one of the handguns had been stolen in rural Brandon and the other was one of six guns stolen from a vehicle in Sioux Falls.
