Sunday brought great news for both the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University as they were rewarded for great seasons with a trip to the DII playoffs.

Both teams will have to travel on the road to pick up wins and continue their season.

Augustana had a record of 9-2 and will face off against CSU Pueblo in the opening round.

Augie had so many close calls but showed tremendous fortitude and grit to win some tough games down the stretch.

The Vikings are off to Pueblo, CO for Saturdays first-round game with kickoff set for 2 PM and ticket information can be found at GoAugie.com.

USF ended the season with an 8-3 record and was able to convince the committee that they were playoff-worthy.

The Cougars will play Colorado School of Mines in their first-round game on Saturday with game time set for 1 PM in Golden, CO.

USF ended their season winning six of seven games and have some solid momentum heading into the postseason.

Ticket information for USF's playoff game can be found at USFcougars.com.

The rare nature of having two teams from one city to make the playoffs makes this an extra special time for football fans in the area.

Hopefully, both teams can bring home wins and continue their seasons next week.
