Madison Baumgartner (pictured) threw seven shutout innings and the San Francisco Giants blanked the Detroit Tigers 2-0 to take a two games to none lead in the World Series.

Baumgartner outdueled Tigers starter Doug Fister by allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out 8. Fister gave up just one run in 6+ innings of work on four hits and a walk.

Hunter Pence led off the 7th for the Giants with a single off Fister. Reliever Drew Smyly came in and walked Brandon Belt before Gregor Blanco laid down a bunt that stayed fair along the third base line loading the bases. Brandon Crawford grounded into a double play, bringing home the only run the Giants would need as Santiago Casilla and Sergio Romo finished off Detroit with perfect innings.

The Series takes Friday off before switching venues to Detroit. San Francisco will send Ryan Vogelsong to the hill while Detroit, in a 2-0 hole, will send Anibal Sanchez out in Saturday night's game 3.
