MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota has returned to the NCAA baseball tournament for the first time in six years, set to begin play in College Station, Texas, in one of the 16 regionals.

The Big Ten regular season champion Gophers got the No. 2 seed in the four-team draw hosted by top seed Texas A&M, joined by No. 3 seed Wake Forest and No. 4 seed Binghamton. The Gophers (34-20) will play Wake Forest on Friday afternoon to begin the double-elimination event that runs if necessary through Monday.

This will be the Big Ten-leading 31st appearance in the NCAA tournament for the Gophers, the 18th under current coach John Anderson.
