After Saturday's 38 to 13 loss to Nebraska, junior wide receiver A.J. Barker is quitting and transferring from the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team.

Barker broke the news on Twitter, saying, "Well, its official. I am done playing football for the University of Minnesota and I will be looking to transfer next season for my final yr." Barker then added a link to a Tumblr page blasting head coach Jerry Kill and explaining why he is transferring from the Gophers.

Barker says in his blog post (http://ajbarker82.tumblr.com/) that the Gophers coaching staff accused him of faking his ankle injury that has kept him out of the last three games, as well during spring ball, an assistant coach accused his religious views.

1500 ESPN said Kill told reporters on Sunday morning that he has no problems with Barker, apart from his ankle surgery. Kill noted Barker is suffering from a high ankle sprain.

This season before Barker was injured, he led the Gophers with 577 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in eight games.
