Drinkbox Studios' Guacamelee was a big hit with the Sushi staff this year, so we're very intrigued by rumors the indie actioner may be headed to next-gen consoles.

According to IGN, Drinkbox is currently working on an upgraded version of the popular title specifically for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The initial report was pulled, but not before EGM managed to get all the pertinent details.

Designer Chris McQuinn supposedly spilled the beans to IGN, offering the new version of Guacamelee would be more than just a straight port. There will also be two new worlds, new enemies and new abilities bolstered by improved visuals and particle effects.

Guacamelle is already available on the PS3 and Vita. Hopefully this pans out to be true, as we'd love the chance to play through one of our Best Games of 2013 again with even more content.
