Well known with the racing world in these parts as 'Long Hair Racing', he's John Lambertz of Sioux Fall, SD. For 20 years John has been racing sprint cars carrying the number 12L on the wing.

John works professionally in the construction business in Sioux Falls. He just turned 44. As a matter of fact, we caught up with him with this video on his birthday.

We talked with John prior to race time at Huset's Speedway on Sunday August 4th. He had won at Huset's the week before ending a year long drought at the track.

I asked John who started the name 'Long Hair'. He told us who did and added: 'A lot of people don't know my name, they just call me Long Hair.'

After driving these bad boys for 20 years, I had to ask John how he would describe racing a sprint car. His answer was quick and short saying: 'A roller coaster.'

Lambertz was a long time car owner during his racing career. Now he drives someone else' car and says: 'It's kind of fun racing for somebody else.'

In John's attempt to make it two straight wins at Huset's, he would end up finishing 6th place in the 25 lap feature later in the night.
