Idaho Stampede Ride Away From Sioux Falls Skyforce [VIDEO]

There is no doubt that the Sioux Falls Skyforce have more talent on their roster than they did two weeks ago.  On Tuesday night, that talent only lasted until the beginning of the fourth quarter as the Idaho Stampede shook off a double-digit deficit to roll to a road win 109-102 at the Sioux Falls Arena.

The new-look Skyforce (21-17) scored the first seven points in the third quarter to take a 65-47 lead and threatened to make quick work of the Stampede (12-24).  However, the gradual erosion of the Skyforce lead was mainly due to a cold streak from the floor and the line plus a propensity to foul gave enough of a crease for the Stampede to wrestle away the win.  With 12 games remaining and 8 of them on the road, that might not be such a bad thing for Sioux Falls as their 10-7 mark so far on the road can attest.

Idaho’s Coby Karl scored 16 of his 18 points after intermission with Justin Harper also contributing 18 counters and not to be discounted was the 9 points scored by JuJan Johnson all in the fourth quarter after looking lost in the first half.   Demetris Nichols bore the scoring standard for the home team with 26 points and Damian Saunders added 23 points and 8 rebounds off the bench with Andre Barrett scoring 16 and dealing 15 assists.  Idaho will continue their road swing on a Thursday junket to Reno while Sioux Falls heads to Santa Cruz on Friday followed by a stop in Reno on Saturday.
