NEW ORLEANS, LA -- The South Dakota State Men’s Cross Country team was honored Monday by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as they are ranked 15th in the Midwest region in the preseason regional rankings.

The Jackrabbits are one of three Summit League teams to be ranked in the preseason poll (UMKC 12th, North Dakota State 14th).

Last year SDSU finished 17th in the final USTFCCA poll.

Last week the Jackrabbits were voted by the Summit League coaches as the preseason favorites to win the conference.

The rankings break all Division I cross country teams into regions and are voted upon by the USTFCCCA.

The Jackrabbits will begin their season this Friday at the NDSU Dual in Fargo, N.D.  at 5:30 p.m.
