Throughout the year we get caught up in our daily lives, taking for granted all the joys we experience each and every day.

Usually around the Holidays, most of us get an opportunity to spend time with family, have some time off to reflect and start to ponder the year that was.

Each year, I fall into the same trap as most, over looking all that has made me happy and joyful while taking for granted all the things I’m thankful for.

So do me a favor… Take some time and do as I have, look back, reflect and think about what you are thankful for this year!

As we march into a new year, I present my 15 Days of Thanks!

I travel quite a bit for work.

Attending games and covering events all over the country.

Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but as anyone who travels for work knows, nothing is like being home with your family.

Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to stay at some great places and the accommodations accompanied by the tremendous hospitality made my stay better and allowed me to essentially feel at home.

The Grand Hotel in downtown Minneapolis has it all.  From a luxurious lobby to elegant rooms, the hotel makes sure you feel like royalty during your stay.

I stayed at The Grand Hotel twice this past year and both experiences were the same.

Great accommodations and great service. From the room service staff to the front desk staff to the business office staff, all were accommodating and sincere.

On site Lifetime Fitness Center, 24 hour bell service, great location, I mean I can't rave enough about this place.  Whether its for work, sporting event or a romantic weekend with the spouse, you must check this place out!

I have stayed at over 20 hotels in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area and by far, my favorite is the Grand! If there is availability, I will always be staying there when covering Minnesota sports.  www.grandhotelminneapolis.com

This past September, I went out to Provo, UT for the second time to watch BYU and Utah tangle in the Holy War.  Always a great football atmosphere and we had a great time at the game as always.

However, the highlight of this trip was our stay at the Sundance Resort in Sundance, UT.

Nestled at the base of a mountain, Sundance Resort offers all the scenic views you expect from a five star mountain resort.

Access to hiking trails, ski lifts, slopes, and so much more, the experience outside your room is just incomparable.

Then the accommodations inside the rooms was great as well.  Log cabin style housing, with multiple levels, decks, kitchen, and the scenic views to go along with it, made it a remarkable experience.   For example, off of our deck, we looked down about 100ft and were able to see a creek with wildlife a plentiful.

I gauruntee I will be back, with my wife, to go skiing and experience a different setting with the season change.  No doubt in my mind though that the experience will be remarkable once again.

Want to get away for a skiing expedition or a weekend with the wife, make sure the Sundance Resort is on your bucket list! www.sundanceresort.com
