Throughout the year we get caught up in our daily lives, taking for granted all the joys we experience each and every day.

Usually around the Holidays, most of us get an opportunity to spend time with family, have some time off to reflect and start to ponder the year that was.

Each year, I fall into the same trap as most, over looking all that has made me happy and joyful while taking for granted all the things I’m thankful for.

So do me a favor… Take some time and do as I have, look back, reflect and think about what you are thankful for this year!

As we march toward Christmas, I present my 15 Days of Thanks!

Day 5:

Consistency can be taken for granted when talking about your favorite team.  For me consistency has been the model for my favorite football team for decades.

As a Steelers fan since my childhood, I have been very fortunate to experience great success for the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise and been very proud to be a member of Steeler Nation.

So even as the Steelers are having a down year record wise, as a fan, I never have even thought about panicking about the future direction of the organization.

Go back and look at the last 20 years of the Steelers and you'll find a few years where there were sub .500 records only to make a run the following season deep into the playoffs.

So as I watch other NFL fans experience what seems like a right of passage for Steelers fans, I know we'll be back and I truly appreciate the way the Rooney family runs the team and I personally thank them!
