Kirk Triplett is off to a good start at the 2019 Sanford International as he sits a top the leaderboard with a one stroke lead.

His -4 on day one included five birdies and one bogey, all while the winds were swirling at Minnehaha Country Club.

A season ago, Triplett finished tied for sixth at this event.

Paul Broadhorst and Pat Gillis are tied for second with scores of -3 and shot a -2 to sit in third.

The wind accompanied with the fast greens played a big part in having so many people struggle at putting up great numbers his first or second game.
