As a result of Kobe Bryant going down with an Achilles tear, a former member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce gets a call-up.  The Los Angeles Lakers signed Rio Grande Valley Vipers guard Andrew Goudelock for the 34th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2012-13 NBA Development League season.  Goudelock joins 127 players with NBA D-League experience currently on NBA rosters.

Goudelock (6-3, 200, College of Charleston) has appeared in 37 regular season games, all starts, for the Vipers, averaging 21.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 36.7 minutes.  He began the season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, playing in 14 games before being traded to Rio Grande Valley in January.

In total, Goudelock appeared in 52 regular season NBA Development League games during the 2012-13 season, averaging 21.1 points, 5.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 37.1 minutes.  Goudelock played in one playoff game for Rio Grande Valley before signing with Los Angeles, scoring 27 points in 47 minutes as the Vipers defeated the Maine Red Claws in the series opener.

The "Mini-Mamba" has a history with the Lakers having been selected by the team in the second round, 56th overall, in the 2011 NBA Draft and playing in four games for the team during the 2011-12 NBA season.  He was in uniform and active for the game against the San Antonio Spurs Sunday night, but did not play.  The Lakers need to win one more game to beat Utah for the 8th and final playoff spot.

The guard had been among the top prospects in the NBADL for the entire 2012-13 season before finally earning a call-up from the Vipers.  RGV advanced to the second round of the NBADL playoffs after dispatching the Maine Red Claws in two games.  They will play at Tulsa on Friday night in game one of their series against the 66ers.  The other second round series involves the Austin Toros hosting the Santa Cruz Warriors on Wednesday night.
