PIERRE - The South Dakota Labor Department is encouraging college seniors and recent graduates to look for internships that provide training and can lead to permanent jobs.

State Labor Secretary Pam Roberts says internships offer work experience, networking and an opportunity for students to improve their work records. She says businesses that offer internships and entry-level positions get applicants who have up-to-date training and are eager to work and learn.

Roberts says internships help companies fill temporary workforce needs and also find permanent employees.

The Labor Department has a listing of jobs and internships on the Internet at www.sdjobs.org.
