When one of the biggest events of the summer takes place later this week, the man for the job will be Mike Golic Jr.

Golic Jr will take over Adam Amin's coveted spot as the play-by-play man of the annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest! He has plenty of Major League Eating experience having previously challenged Joey Chestnut to a beignet eating contest during the College Football National Championship. Chestnut defeated Golic Jr. in that contest 72-14. Chestnut, by the way, will be aiming for his 13th Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating championship.

Golic Jr. will have the chance to live out the dreams of play-by-play broadcasters around the country on the 4th of July. I know I am jealous, but I also know that Golic Jr. will knock it out of the park! Joining Golic Jr in the broadcast booth will be Major League Eating's Richard Shea and reporting from ESPN's Jason Fitz.

This will be the 17th consecutive year that ESPN will broadcast the event. This year's contest will be held at an undisclosed location due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coverage of the event will begin at 11:00 AM Central Time on July 4th on ESPN.
