Not only will a new Minneapolis football stadium house the Minnesota Vikings, but the new facility may give the Twin Cities a chance to land the college football's national championship game someday. is reporting the Minneapolis is among the cities considering a bid for a future title game.  The deadline to submit a proposal for the 2016 and 2017 games is September 27th.

It's unlikely Minneapolis will consider the January 2016 game, because the new Vikings stadium isn't scheduled to be completed until July of that year.

At least four cities are expected to bid on the 2016 game: Glendale AZ, Jacksonville,  New Orleans, and Tampa.

Among the cities reportedly interested in the 20I7 game: Jacksonville, Miami, New Orleans, San Antonio, San Francisco, Tampa, Atlanta, Arlington TX, and Minneapolis.

The winning bids for 2016 and 2017 will be announced in November.
