MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota quarterback MarQueis Gray is vowing to play much better against New Hampshire on Saturday than he did in a shaky season opener against UNLV last week.

Gray says he knows if the Gophers would have lost to UNLV "it would have been because of me." He completed just 17 of 30 passes for 269 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a triple-overtime win over the Running Rebels.

Gray missed several wide open receivers down field in the game, which prevented the Gophers from turning the game into a route. Gray says he was anxious to play in the season opener and expects to be calmer from the start against New Hampshire.

Coach Jerry Kill says it's just a matter of Gray getting timing down with his receivers.
