The Minnesota Timberwolves made franchise history on Thursday as they made their first ever #1 overall pick in team history.

The name that was called by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver... Karl-Anthony Towns, the big man out of Kentucky.

Later on in the first round, the Timberwolves traded for Minnesota native and Duke freshman point guard Tyus Jones.

This team is still young but the potential has never been at a higher point in recent memory.

The Timberwolves now have three #1 overall picks on their roster. In addition to Towns, the Wolves currently have Anthony Bennet and Andrew Wiggins, the two previous #1 overall picks from 2013 and 2014.
