The Minnesota Golden Gophers woke up with a 4-5 record and ended their night handing the #3 team in the country their first loss of the season.

Minnesota defeated Ohio State on Sunday 84-71 in Minneapolis as the Gophers jumped out early and finished late.

Marcus Carr was dominating and scored a career-high 35 points with Daniel Oturu pitching in nicely with a double-double scoring 14 points and adding 13 rebounds.

This could be that signature win that propels this version of the Gophers to things beyond their exceptions heading into the year.

The belief accompanied with the understanding of what it takes to win games like this could go a long way to helping this team the rest of the way.

I got to see Minnesota in Sioux Falls against Oklahoma back in November and the team I watched today just executed and scored so much better than back then.

The idea is to keep that consistency going and driving them to success the rest of the way.
