The Minnesota Vikings and Everson Griffin have agreed on a new five year deal. ESPN is reporting that the deal is worth $42.5 million, with $20 million guaranteed.

With the move, Griffen is sure to move into a starting defensive end spot with Jared Allen more than likely leaving the team in free agency.

Griffen was selected in the 4th round by the Vikings in the 2010 NFL Draft. During his time with the Vikings, he has accumulated 85 tackles, 17.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 1 interception that went for a touchdown.
