The evidence is clear.  Damien Wilkins is currently the "it" guy for the Iowa Energy as his efforts went a long way toward a 104-103 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce Friday night before 3,127 at the Sanford Pentagon.

It's not just the stats which only bolster the assertion.  Through 8 games Wilkins leads the Energy (5-3) in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and is tied for most blocked shots among current players on the roster.

Wilkins output on Friday night, 25 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and the only Iowa block of the night.  That's even before we get to the clutch three-point bomb with 5 seconds left that put the Energy up to stay.  Anyone in the NBA need someone like that? Feast your eyes on the proof from the clip above.

Current NBA player on assignment Andre Dawkins of the Miami Heat tried to match Wilkins dagger for dagger scoring 25 as well to lead the Skyforce (3-6).  Dawkins created his own opportunity to win it for the home team with a fadeaway baseline jumper that hit the rim and was nearly tipped in at the buzzer by Fuquan Edwin.

A valiant effort for both teams led to respectful condolences and congratulations afterward as Wilkins and Dawkins embraced at half court to recognize each other's contributions.  Dawkins' night can be viewed in the clip below.

Iowa also had the efforts of Memphis Grizzlies assignee Jordan Adams at their disposal Friday night and he tallied 23 points and 8 rebounds with newly acquired Jarrid Famous who posted 10 points and 13 boards.

Noteworthy marks for the Skyforce include 19 points from A.J. Davis plus 14 points and 11 rebounds from Khem Birch.  However it was not enough to prevent a fourth straight loss.

Same two teams clash again for a second consecutive night in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena.
