What a season for the NHL.

First a lockout, then a shortened season and what a shortened season it was. With the teams only playing conference games during the regular season, it was a pleasure to see the inter-conference matchups take on a new sense of importance.

Then we fast forward to the playoffs. Great excitement throughout, including what seemed like overtime game after overtime game.

Then we get the Stanley Cup Finals in which we were treated to two of the original six teams in Chicago and Boston. The Blackhawks ultimately won the series in six games, but it too was full of excitement and intrigue.

NBC Sports NHL Analyst Brian Engblom joined Jeff Thurn on Overtime to discuss the playoffs and recap the finals. They also discussed the future of both teams and some off-season possibilities in regards to Free Agency.
