Sioux Falls will be the home to an all-new concept in 2014, the marriage of two very popular activities: golf and fitness.

GreatLife Malaska Golf & Fitness Club will combine area golf courses and fitness facilities, providing individuals or families to utilize services for one monthly fee.

Local Burger King President and Willow Run Golf Course owner Tom Walsh is partnering with Donn Hill of Bakker Crossing Golf Course to launch the venture which will incorporate Willlow Run, Bakker Crossing, Central Valley Golf Course in Hartford, and Rocky Run in Dell Rapids, as well as EmBe Fitness Center in Downtown Sioux Falls and Sioux Empire Fitness to provide the best of both golf and fitness to GreatLife members.

Golf Addiction, Austad's, and longtime golf instructor and author Mike Malaska are also part of the new group.

In addition to Sioux Empire and EmBe, space is being created at each of GreatLife's golf courses for on-site fitness facilites.

Members of GreatLife will enjoy unlimited access to the program's golf courses and fitness facilities, year round.

Unlimited memberships are currently available and start at $49.99 per month for individuals. There is a one-time initiation for all memberships.  That fee is $50 dollars thru the end of January, $75 in February, and $100 beginning in March. $25 of each initiation fee goes to EmBe for women's and girls' leadership programs.

All of the fitness facilities are expected to be open by the middle of February.
