No. 2 LSU Descends on Struggling Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - An angry, desperate Auburn team awaits No. 2 LSU. Still, the host Tigers will need more than emotion to have a chance against LSU Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

LSU (3-0) breezes into its Southeastern Conference opener as a three-touchdown favorite. Auburn (1-2, 0-1) views the game as a way to put its season back on track and get payback for comments that left them fuming after last season's 45-10 loss. It was the biggest margin in a game between the two SEC West rivals.

If that wasn't enough, LSU fullback J.C. Copeland said later that Auburn defenders shied from contact and "laid on the ground" rather than taking him on.

Auburn defensive end Corey Lemonier says that's "a huge disrespect to us" and a motivating factor for the rematch.
