Just because there was DLC available for the first Dark Souls doesn't mean you should expect any when Dark Souls 2 arrives next year.

Takeshi Miyazoe was recently interviewed about Dark Souls 2, and offered some insight into what not to expect from the upcoming sequel.

“For Dark Souls 2, we don’t even expect any additional downloadable content because we want to deliver a full game, the full experience, to fans who purchase the package from day one," Miyazoe told Edge. "We did do additional content for Dark Souls, but generally downloadable content for Dark Souls II is not really being considered. Buy the package and you’ll get the full experience, and you’ll have as much fun as anybody else. Spending a couple dollars on certain items does not help the experience. So no free-to-play yet!”

Miyazoe also talked about how the original Dark Souls' PC version was rushed, and thus the follow-up was developed for PC since the start. "For Dark Souls II we are developing on PC from the beginning," Miyazoe said. "We realize what PC games typically require, and I can assure you that the PC version of Dark Souls II will be a good PC experience for PC gamers.”

Still it's a shame there won't be DLC, but judging by the original game, there should be plenty of content to keep players busy for quite some time regardless.
