As I start the countdown to Wrestlemania XXX in New Orleans, I’ve decided to take a look back at the top five matches in Wrestlemania history. Having seen every single Wrestlemania over the course of my life, it was hard to narrow it down.

I have attended three Wrestlemania’s in the past (XXIV in 2008, XXV in 2009, and XXVI in 2010) and will be attending XXX (or 30) in New Orleans just next week.

The List:

Number 4: Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon, Ladder Match, Wrestlemania X

It was one of the most innovative matches at the time. There was previous ladder matches before Michaels and Ramon took the stage at the World's Most Famous Arena Madison Square Garden, but none quite hit the same mark that these two did.

The concept of the Ladder Match is to climb a ladder and retrieve a title belt/contract/or whatever is hanging above the ring. Michaels and Ramon set the standard for the future Ladder Matches.

Much like another match that will be on this list (no, I won't spoil it) you have to watch this match in the mind of the time. It won't necessarily "blow you away" if you've seen Ladder Matches that followed it. For what it was, it still is one of the best matches in Wrestlemania history.

Michaels and Ramon used the ladder to their advantage, including Ramon smashing the ladder into the stomach of Michaels, and Michaels jumping off of the ladder.

The story build throughout the entire match was perfect. Both wrestlers entered as "champions" and it was time to get an undisputed Interconitinatial Champion.

Here is the match:
